Our very first coffees from Nepal! (check out the natural and the honey process as well).

We are always so excited to release new coffees, but releasing an origin that has never been on our menu is always special.

Coffee in Nepal is still young, only about 20 years old. The country produces very little coffee, and more than half is consumed locally. Specialty coffee occupies a very tiny part of the entire production, but projects like the CPP are trying to change that.

Nima Sherpa Tenzing of Lekali Estate overseas the coffee practice team who work with farmers on best practices through selective harvesting. The team also manages a central wet mill for controlled processing.

We love washed coffee from Yunnan and Myanmar, and this Nepalese lot feels a lot like this. It feels classic in a way, but with an acidity, sweetness and a booziness that sets them apart from Central American coffees.

The almond and cherry notes are working so great together: mild acidity, nice texture and complexity.
The apricot notes make the coffee subtlety sweet, and the baking spice impressions we had make this coffee quiet round and interesting.

This is the type of coffee you can analyse in depth or chug down while working. Either way a super solid coffee we can't get enough of.
