This Iyenga AA lot (the highest quality) is elegant and easy to drink. Rich stone fruits notes like plum, date and dried apricots are dominant, and the caramel sweetness gives the coffee an amazing balance and a silky mouthfeel.
As it cools, you can expect some hints of tropical fruits to come out (think mango) and a very nice cedar finish.
The Iyenga producer group is very well organized. They organise cherry pick up daily during harvest to make sure it’s pulped and fermented within maximum 8 hours. The coffee goes through multiple screening for defect and size, and in this case, only the biggest seeds were kept to created this coffee lot.
The Bourbon varietal is known to be extremely sweet, which shows in the cup.
Iyenga represent 193 farmers, each with a maximum of 5 hectares (average is 2)
